Turkey time!

Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving!

We brined the turkey with maple syrup and herbs,

Then filled it with a peach stuffing

Shoved butter in all sorts of odd places

And after 3.5 hours

Voila!

On August 20th we checked out the fair at the PNE. My favourite part might be the rabbit which looked like a cotton ball, or the stand after stand of BBQ...

In late August Stefan and I hit the trails. We went to Two Canyon Loop and got to enjoy a wide variety of landscapes. I liked the water falls. Too bad we didn't bring swimsuits. But we did stop by the cafe at the Ecology Centre and buy some local berries that were being sold just outside. AWESOME!

Mushroom + Arugula Gnocchi

We were inspired by a fantastic meal with Ensemble last week and decided it was high time to make our gnocchi again and wanted to make a sauce that would use our fridge leftovers (crimini mushrooms, portobello mushroom, and onions) and some stuff from our backyard (arugula and sage).

We used this recipe subbing in the onion for the shallots and adding some white wine (before the stock and letting it boil off mostly) and then some cream at the end. YUM.
